I have just installed a Matrox 80gig HD 7200 RPM with 3 partitions. 1st partition is C: at 37.9 gig with 34.7 free
    D: at 18.9 gig with 18.3 free and E: at 17.5 with 17.2 free
When I pull up virtual memory and check availability there it shows C: at -29911mb free
    D: at 18760 mb free
    E: at 17615 mb free
My question is why does C: show a negative sign before the free space?
Is it because win 98se will not recgonize the size of the partition.
I have been told that I will need to upgrade my o/s to newer version of windows ie: 2000 professional or win xp.
Is this true or is there another way to solve this issue as my system resources run low all the time. I just checked and system resources were 6%. Even after a reboot I can check and the most system resources I have free is 43%.
Hoping someone has a resolution for my delima.
    Thanks

The drive's space is being used properly. You are experiencing false number reporting due to a deficiency in FDisk for Windows 98. Microsoft has an updated FDisk for larger drives.
