Not sure where exactly this belongs so I'll put it here and in XP.

I've got a new PC coming on Friday and there's a couple of gigs worth of data I want to transfer over to it.

I want to connect the two PCs together using the paralell port and then use dcc to transfer the files. I know I'll only get about 150Kb/s transfer rate and that it'll take a few hours to transfer everything I need but I'd rather do this than spend my time switching between PCs and rewriting and erasing a CD-RW which I believe would be almost as slow (time spent erasing, burning and transfering would mount to about 50 mins for me).

I thought about taking the hard drive out and putting it in the new PC to transfer everything but I've never installed a hard drive before so I'd rather not in case I ***** something up.

My question is: How would I go about setting up a Win 98-Win XP transfer setup? I hear there's some compatability issues so I'm not sure if it's gonna work.

    Any advice?
