Win 98 Vmm32.vxd problem

    I am trying to reload an old emachines computer and when i do it seems that that the instaklation cd does not load Vmm32.vxd. is it supposed to do that?
    or is my CD corrupt?

    Hi and welcome to the BBS,

    "Reload "? Are you trying to reinstall Windows over itself? If so, you need to start the computer with a Windows startup floppy disk (or get a 98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com). After selecting "...with CDrom support" you get to the A:\ prompt. Just above the A:\ prompt you will see the designation of the CD drive letter. If the CD drive is, say, drive E:, type and enter:
    E:
    Type and enter:
    setup

    If you are still having problems with VMM32.vxd, you will need to make a note of the exact wording of the error message.
