In the network adapter TCP/IP protocol under advanced settings and selecting the DNS tab. For some reason, my system will append suffixes instead of just appending the primary. Daily I have to manually change it either via the gui or a script.

I am wondering why Win 7 64 bit is caching these DNS suffixes. I suspect is somehow has something to do with Home, Work, Public profiles, though I don't ever use those. IE the pop Windows OS gives you when you connect to a new network and it asks you to categorize it as a Home, Work or Public network.

I saw that someone else on the forum had a similar issue, but they too used a script to circumvent the issue.

    Thoughts?

    Uncheck TCP/IP v6
    Uninstall QoS Packet Scheduler

First, clear the current cached DNS domains:
    ipconfig /flushdns

To stop all future DNS caching, stop & disable the DNS Client Service in Services applet. The downside to disabling the client is if you search for files on other computers on your LAN the search will take longer. Not a big deal.

Web browsing will not slow down because DNS lookups will automatically be handled by the ISP's DNS.
