I have been trying to figure this out for about a week and it's making me insane. I am running win2k on a large non-domained LAN, and I am logged in as a admin to my machine with full privileges enabled. However, when I try to share a folder, no one can access it, because they are prompted with a password for my IPC$ resource. Furthermore, I am unable to acess my "file and printer sharing" properties box, which is the first place i thought to look to attempt to solve the problem. I am extremely new to Win 2k and just upgraded from ME. Can anyone help me? Thank you so much.

I dont believe File and Printer sharing has any properties in W2K. It is just a service you need to have installed. The IPC$ share problem should be fixed by right clicking your folders or hard drive you want, click share and then make a new share name. If you were to share your C drive for example you would click new share and name it C for lack of originality. In the Drop down box you would then see C$ and C . You can add permissions to that share here as well and concerrent usage too.
