Ok, i'm using a direct connection with ethernet. Computer to computer. No hub, I had the network working previously, but had to format because of viruses. So both computers are on the same network "network" is the name of the network. Because 2000 sets all characters to capitals i've tried both upper and lower case "network" on the 98 machine. The win2000 sees itself, and the 98SE sees itself. But both don't see eachother.

I have them both set to automatically get an IP. Both ethernet cards are installed properly and both computers have something that says "TCP/IP --> CARD HERE "

I just can't get it!! I'm going crazy!

Check the IP Addresses of each.

    Win 2K - Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /all

Win98se - Start > Run > winipcfg (then select the MORE button)

    Post the information.

Hehe, that thing you told me to use to look, showed me what was the problem. Windows 2000 was set to an ip, the 98 machine was using auto config. Thanks ;)
