    I upgraded to W2K recently.

    1. Each time system starts up I am getting pop up box called "Atitask.ex - Entry point not found" and inside the box "The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_20 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL 32.dll" How to get rid of it?

    2. Each time I am dialing-up dial-up networking monitor box popping up. How to get rid of that box?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS Help.

Atitask.exe - ATI Technologies Inc. Task Application (AtiKey). Provides System Tray access and key-combo shortcuts to common display functions on ATI video cards.

ATITASK.EXE is non-essential and can be removed from the HKLM\..\Run startup key altogether.

Also, systems prior to 2K allowed any program installto write it's dlls to \system32. 2K does not allow this but requires the program install to put the dll in the folder with the program exe. If that is what has bitten you, a reinstall of your video drivers might cure the problem.

Haven't messed with DUN in a dog's age and don't remember the solution to your pop-up box. I do remember there is a simple fix and hopefully someone will tell you about it.

BTW - you will get quicker responses on here if you
    1. make the thread title contain more specific information
    2. only put one problem per thread.
