I recently bought a new PC & had Windows 2000 installed on it, mainly because of the increased stability it offers over the other available Windows versions. It's been great in that respect, but the level of complexity is quite a bit higher than Win 98, which I'm familiar with. I have the following two problems:
    1) I made the mistake of creating an Administrator password when I first got the system, & then read that it a bad idea to do that for security reasons. Is there any way to go back to having no Admin password?
    2) I installed Front Page while logged on as Administrator, then logged off and logged back on usin gmy personal logon ID & set to the task of learning how to use it . In the process, I created some webs I'd now like to get rid of, but have been unable to delete. When I attempt to delete them while logged on as myself, I am told that onlt the Administrator can delete webs. But when I log on as Administrator & start Front Page, the webs are not visible in the directory of webs that have been created. I presume this is because I created them in my own log-on space.
Can anybody offer any assistence with this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

Charlie - don't know where you read that the administrator password is a bad idea but that just plain ain't so. You have to have an administrator account (2K requires it) and you certainly should have that account password protected. In fact, a strong password is an excellent idea. Strong being 1) long 2) not a word 3) containing some non-alpha, non-numeric characters. Example - mYpaSSworD-29&. With one like this, a brute-force password cracking program would take just about forever to figure it out.

As to the other issue - easy fix. If you go to the local groups, you should see an administrators group. Add your logon to that group and you will have full admin rights.

For safety, probably a good idea to remove your logon from administrator group after you are done. Super User/Power User is more appropriate for day-to-day work.
