Resolved Will Windows 7 open Vista backup?

    I am buying a new Windows 7 computer (Home edition). Will Windows 7 be able to open a backup of my files and settings I made on my old Vista machine using the Vista backup feature?

    Welcome to WindowsBBs :)

    I rather doubt that your Vista backup can be restored to a computer running Windows 7 - could be wrong, but have no experience of Vista at all :)

    However you can use Windows Easy Transfer. Read carefully through this article - on the surface it is straightforward.
