I have an Antec 300 case, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard, and RAM that looks like this :http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013SLEQM/ref=oss_product

I'm thinking of getting an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2. Will the heat spreaders on the RAM leave enough room to install the cooler?

    Thanks.

If it is a matter of dimensions, get the dimensions and look at measuring it.

We are working in virtuality :)

Usually RAM heat spreader's are quite useless: your RAM doesn't get hot (the exception being overclocking).

I went ahead and ordered it. We'll see if it works.

What do you know, it fits just fine with room to spare. The side of the fan is straight vertical, so it wouldn't make any difference if the RAM had heatspreaders or not.

FYI: I'm not even a power user, but for me, the Core2Quad Q9950 stock cooler was weak: idling at 45C, 56C just watching a YouTube Video, and 76C while scanning in Spybot S&D. With the new cooler, it idles at 25C, and won't go above 39C no matter what I do.

    Not bad for $29 bucks.

BTW, the system is not overclocked now, but I want to give it a try sometime, just to be able to say I did it. Those RAM heatspreaders might come in handy some day.

    Mark this thread resolved!
