I live in the country where there is no DSL or Cable Modem connectivity. I am currently using Hughes Net (Formerly Direcway) I hate it! Sure it is faster than dialup but I was wondering if anyone knows of a better solution. I have an aircard for my laptop when I travel and the speed is ok but not great. What can I expect from a Wi-Fi Antenna? My neighbor has DSL and he is able to get it beacuse he is within range of the DSL HUB. I am 5000 Cable Feet too far away.
    Thanks

Which aircard do you have on which carrier? I actually canceled my cable modem, and use Sprint's Pantech PX-500. Costs me $29.99/mo. for unlimited, and unlike Verizon, Sprint actually speaks English! Unlimited is truly unlimited. I get between 1.2-1.8Mbps on average. I peaked in San Ysidro, Calif. one time and pulled down 2.5Mbps. :D
