why would widnows Xp restarts on its own

    I have been using xp for a couple of weeks now and for some reason it has a mind of its own. I can be in the middle of doing something and it just restarts.
    Is there a reason for this? Is t here something I can do to stop it from happening?

    Right click My Computer > Properties > Startup & Recovery area > Settings > untag the box labeled "Automatic Restart." Apply the change and exit.

    If you get blue screen errors after that, post back the full error message for consideration.
