This started a few weeks ago. Whenever I click on a desktop icon, a tiny window appears which I have to enlarge by clicking on the little square at the top right.

Prior this, whenever I clicked on a desktop icon, the window would be full size, not tiny.

Any help in fixing this would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

Close all programs first. Double-click one of your the desktop icons to open it but this time, instead of clicking the little square at the top right, drag the edges of the window out to the size you want, then while holding down the [Ctrl] key, click the red [X] at the top right corner to close it. The next time you open that program, Windows should remember the size of the window you just set.

Thanks much Doc, it worked, but only when I used your suggestions on the link from Windows BBS. That link was procucing tiny windows until I used what you have suggested and after that all the icons on my desktop produced normal large size windows when clicking on them.
