Why does saving a Google document cause paragraph spacing change?

Does anybody know anything about Google online documents?

If I upload a Microsoft Word document to a Google document, then
immediately store the same document back to my disk, the paragraph
format is changed in the new document to a spacing after the paragraph
of 19 pixels. This happens on every document and doesn't seem to
depend on what spacing that I choose in Google Documents. Nothing else
in the document seems to be changed, and if I change the paragraph
spacing back to 0 in MS Word, the document seems to be correct. Why
does this happen and what can I do to prevent Google Documents from
    changing the paragraph spacing?

Have you tried some of WORD's document protection values. I've never needed to use these features and continue to use WORD 97, so not sure how many features you have available to you.

I would start with "Read Only" and work through your list of options. You may want to post in Google groups (appropriate forum/groups) to determine if this is a bug in "Google document" and/or if their is a known work-around.

Thanks, Dennis, for your reply. I did post a question in Google groups and didn't receive any answer for some time, which was why I posted the question here. Eventually, I DID however receive a couple of comments in the Google group, which indicated that it is a known problem, but it is not clear if or whether Google will fix it. In the absence of any other information, I guess there is no solution/fix at the moment. Thanks again for your response.
