Plain coloured backgrounds are fine, but when someone uses clipart, etc, as background, Mail "freezes ". I have to click the delete button, or on the next mail, minimize mail or give another window focus, switch back to Mail and it's fine. Is the problem Java, Mail, graphics card?

    Hi Dr.JB,

Quite frankly, it's difficult to say what causes the freeze. I really don't think it's your graphics card, but Java is a possibility, or whether or not you have enabled HTML. Have you installed the Sun Java Plugin? That might help, but I wouldn't guarantee it!

Netscape 6.2.1 Mail is still a work in progress, and I always advise users to use Communicator as their default Mail program. Netscape doesn't seem to place much priority in fixing the Ver. 6.x Mail. :(

I don't know the answer to your question, but remember to disable JavaScript for Mail/Newsgroup.
