    Using IE8/OE6 and XP-Pro w/SP3

Sometimes my Sent emails get stuck in the OE Outbox instead of being sent and moved to the Sent box.

I've seen them sit in the Outbox for hours.
If I send myself a dummy email that often seems to "release" them and they are then Sent.

Is there any way I can fix this (short of dumping IE/OE)?

The ISP's mail server could be down for some reason. I have seen this happen before.

If the mail has an attachment that exceeds the ISP file size limit that could cause the problem.

If your ISP is having issues and you lost internet - that too could cause this.

Your Outbox.dbx I think that's the file name could be corrupt. You can delete it and a new one will be created.

ISP problems with Verizon FIOS is certainly a possibility
    I rarely have attachments.
    I didn't know about deleting Outbox.dbx but I'll give it a try.

Thanks for all the great info.
