we have outer email server (@111.com) and local email server (@222.com), we use MDeamon Mail Server to do 2 tasks:
one is get @111.com emails and deliver to the local user who have outer email, send emails from local user to outer email server.
two is delivers @222.com emails from the local user who have no outer email to local user.
Windows XP Professional SP2 + Office 2003 Standard
the problem just influenced on outlook 2003, outlook 2000 is ok!
Thank you from the buttom of my heart!

Hmmmm. Interesting. Exchange Server can be set to manipulate domain user accounts and I thought maybe that was your problem but with no Exchange Server, it cannot be.

Can you explain more about "outlook 2003 lost the email account password after the user change the logon password ".
    - did the password change to match the new logon password
    - did the passwork change to blank / no password
    - or was it something else? If so, details would help.

for example, 1st, May, i logon the windows xp to the domain, and config my email account in the outlook, save the email password in the list. after 30 days, the domain ask me to change the logon password, i've changed and logon, just at the time, i open outlook2003, it will popup a window, ask me input the email password. why? why i after changed logon password, the outlook lost the password? what's relation between logon password and email password? it could not happened in outlook 2000, just outlook 2003.

    thank you very much!

exchange server password lost: I'm having it too

    Hi all,

I encoutered the same problem too, found the answer yet?

In my case, I suspect the same exchange user was login during password change of windows by a delegated user account.

The profile of the user was dis-synchronised as well. I managed to get it right, but the outlook login failure staid.

    Regards

    Johan
