Why can't I choose the option to create a new LAN!!!

    I'm trying to get our Laptops onto our Network but in the Control Panel options\Dial up and Network bit, there isn't an option to create one.

    Am I missing something??? (Again!!!)

    Do I have to activate the CAT5 port on the side of the lappy or should it already be active???

    Should I get into a new Profession???

    Sorry guys and gals, I think I know why.

    I just spoke to Dell and they said that the Ethernet ports are basicly there for show, theres nothing behind them so they can't be activate, I'll have to buy some cards.

    SamBall - thank you for posting back on that.

    I gotta say that is about the strangest thing I have heard for a while and one wonders what the Dell folks were really thinking if they spent the extra money to add dummy ports to the case.
