The Old Chief is a 73 year old retired Jack Of All Trades who lays claim to 4 totally different careers.

Although my career in the 50's and 60's as a Texas Oil Driller had it's moments, I reckon my most exciting career was helping put all the men on the moon while working at Kennedy Space Center in the 60's and 70's.

I still live across the river from KSC in Titusville, Florida and have now for 43 years.

In the 80's and 90's it was Land Development and then a Computer Software Program I developed and sold through Radio Shack which was called "PrintChief ".

In my retirement years it is model trains and the computer that occupies my time and I really get enjoyment out of both. I'm an Owl so, It's trains by day and computers by night.

Most of my computer enjoyment comes from the satisfactions I receive from doing web pages.

Been married to the same lady for 53 years and we raised 3 children.

I also enjoy writing and I'm leaving family stories for our seven grand children and four great grand children on my web site at: http://www.raysmyth.net/1-gps/00-gps.html

One of the stories explains why "The Old Chief" and that story is at:.. http://www.raysmyth.net/1-gps/scouts/1-scouts.html

The train layout may be seen at:.. http://www.smythsonian.com/playroom/00-img.html

I monitor this forum most every day and sometime participate so I really appreciate Arie, Ramona, Westside and all those who make it possible.

    Cheers, E. Ray Smyth

Your train lay-out is fantastic. I'm in wonder over the hours and hours of work that must have gone into this project. All I can say is: Wow!
