Well... exactly what does this mean? My wife and I subscribe to Sunbelt's CounterSpy. I'm assuming that Kerrio's formerly "free" firewall will now become a paid-for part of the Sunbelt security corral. Is this correct OR will they offer a free version and a paid-for version similar to ZA?

Anyone using either the free or paid version? I have to replace Sygate sooner or later, so feedback would be appreciated.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Charles

I've used Kerio Personal Firewall (free version) for several years, both on the desktop & the laptop with no problems.

I have no idea if Sunbelt have made any alterations to the program, but the WMF exploit rules slid nicely into Kerio :)

Shall be downloading the Sunbelt version when I return home in the New Year and have access to my broadband connection.

    Thanks charlesvar, Hi PeteC

Kerio has been the only Firewall I've had on my 3 year old computer.
Very happy Sunbelt is picking up this product. My understanding Sunbelt will call it Sunbelt/Kerio until (?) they change the code / update ... after that, Kerio gets dropped. For those who are running Kerio and would like to add the rules to
"Protect yourself from the WMF exploit using the Sunbelt Kerio Firewall" do the the following -
Disconnect from internet, exit Kerio - I did this just to prevent any issues, not necessary.
    Follow default path .....
    C:\Program Files\Kerio\Personal Firewall 4\config\IDSRules
    Find bad-traffic.rlk (optional - create/move a copy to a different directory)
    Open bad-traffic.rlk with Notepad.
    Copy/Paste each rule into file.
    Save and Exit
Fire up Kerio - good to go.

UPDATE - Check your following settings ...
NIPS (Network Intrusion Prevention System) must be enabled.
