There will be many answers, I hope; however there's no reason to compare machines on the basis of their processors, because IMHO, memory is more important. For example, my xp64 3000+ with 1GB of matched pair memory in 128 bit bus mode boots XP Pro x64 faster than any machine I've seen, booting, with firewall, antivirus, and antispyware installed, to the desktop and ready to accept input in 37 seconds by stopwatch, including my password entry and dual boot choice.

Think that's a more practical test than most.

dont take anything else into considerations. both machines with 1g which one is faster.

when i look at a configuration and i see the amd 2.1ghz and then the p4 at 3.0ghz naturally the 3.0 would be assumed faster. not sure how the x2 with the amd fits into that picture.

so which one is quicker ??????

They are exactly comperable in my opinion, meaning that you will not see a difference, even though benchmarks might measure a slight difference.
