    Hello!
I am fixing to uninstall my Netscape 4.75 completely (and only save my bookmarks and my newsgroup and news settings)
-and then install Netscape 4.79 and hopefully put my news setting and server info into my new 4.79.
Exactly which file should I save for my newsgroup settings? What is the exact name of the file I should save?
I know the bookmarks file name to save but not the news settings info.
I'm a newbie, so please be patient!
Thanks so much for your help!

    Welcome to the Forum dixie22!

I promise to be gentle. ;)

Following is a link with directions for a "Clean" install of Communicator for users such as yourself:
    Performing a "Clean" Install

To answer your question: the Mail & Newsgroup folder is located in:
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\yourname\Mail
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\yourname\News

The above mentioned directions will explain in detail how to save your Users Profile before installing your upgraded version of Communicator. The Users folder contains all the important information you will want in your upgraded version: Address Book, Bookmarks, Mail, News, Cookies, Dictionary, etc.

Please post back if you have more questions. If not, then let us know how your upgrade goes.

    Ramona :D
