Resolved Which edition would I get after upgrading?

    Laptop: Win7 Ultimate x64
    Small desktop: Win8.0 Home x64
    Big desktop: Win8.1 Pro x64

    It looks like there will be no Win10 Ultimate, so I got to wondering which edition of Win10 I would get if I upgrade. If it would be Win10 Pro, what would I lose from no longer having an Ultimate edition?

    I assume the desktops would retain their current editions after upgrade.

    Hi Hotaru. See this link, How to upgrade to Windows 10: What you need to know.

    To answer your question, you would be upgrading to Windows 10 Professional and the main feature you would be losing in Windows 7 Ultimate would be BitLocker drive encryption which if you aren't using then you wouldn't be giving up any other feature.

    I am a little surprised MS would not let BL be in 10Pro. But I don't use it, and there are other encryption options I can get.
