Where does my SD memory card Card show up? I have a slot on my laptop to insert one and I wanted to use it to back up some data.
I thought it would just show up under my list of drives, but it's nowhere to be found. My Hard drive, flash drives and my DVD all show up on the list, but not the memory stick.
I tried rebooting after it was installed also to no avail.
I know it works because I use it in mt GPS unit to store data and it's fine. If I plug my GPS in via USB cable to the laptop it shows up and displays the files just fine.
I also tried reformatting it to use in the PC. No go.
    Any ideas would be appreciated?

    Hi,
Check that the drivers have been installed for the Card Reader. For some reason the Card Reader may have been disabled in the BIOS/Startup settings.

You will know that there are different types of memory, double check that your reader takes the type of memory you are using. I might wonder if there are different (upgraded) versions of the memory that may require upgraded drivers for the Reader.
