Given that using Explorer we see startup under
    1) (various) users, start menu, programs, startup - quite obvious.
    2) System startup as displayed within, for example, Spybot, advanced mode, tools, system startup - remove the tick, kills that program from starting up, or (another example) error expert, advanced tools, startup list manager, - all these work on some deeper WIN file (maybe WIN.ini or whatever and I would like to know).
    3) Something else that I cannot identify - For example Starband (Satellite connection) when installed shows 4 programs that will startup and can be found by either program (in 2) above) - BUT when I kill those programs from starting up, and then re-boot, and see no tick in the box (Spybot, advanced mode, tools, system startup) etc. these programs still startup and are seen in Taskmanager, processes. SO Question is a) where can one go to stop them from starting up, apart from uninstalling the program (eg Starband) to remove them from processes. or b) where can I go to find out more on this subject.

The reason I ask this is, uninstalling Starband and re-installing it is very time consumimg and I move my computer from one location to another and want to keep the processes lean.

Really appreciate your response, thanks. JohnD.
