Just a quick question, where does IE6 store files currently being downloaded, in a temp directory somewhere?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you're talking about downloading files and not where IE stores Temporary Internet files. When you download a file it should display a dialog box of where you want to save the file and what you want to name the file so really it will download the files exactly where you told it to.

If you know the name of a file that you recently downloaded you could do a search of the hard drive to track the file down and I bet any other files you've downloaded will be in that same directory.

Yes when I'm downloading files, but I want to know where it stores them temporarily when its downloading, as it downloads it doesn't write the file until the download is complete.

A ha, now I gotcha...what OS are you running? It will store the files temporarily in the Temporary Internet Files directory but depending on what version of Windows you're running that location could be different.

Since he's running Windows 2000 he most likely found them in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
