I downloaded Netscape 7.2 and, like a fool, I deleted the 7.1 setup files. I have run into several bugs in 7.2 and finding new ones occasionally.

Where can I find the 7.1 setup files? I don't remember having problems with it like 7.2.

If you look at other posts you will see that people have had problems if:
    1. Installed 7.2 on top of 7.1, without uninstalling 7.1. If you have done that, should go to the Add/Remove and uninstall 7.2.
I never saved my installation files. Now, are you asking where could you download 7.1 installation file? I think you are,and you can download a complete, but smaller file at select Streamline .
It should work, but save that file, because I feel that you should go with 7.2 ( I have had no problem). That would entail uninstalling the newly installed 7.1, and then install 7.2 again. If you still are having problems, then, you will most likely need a new profile. So, it is up to you.
I assure you that if you don't assume that all is well, continuing like the 4.x days, you will have no problems.

    Thanks for the help.

I have run into several bugs in 7.2 that don't appear in 7.1. I don't remember what all of them are; but I do remember two. One is that the Edit> Find feature doesn't always highlight the text string it finds so it is sometimes no help at all. The other is that I have bookmarked groups of tabs. When I try to open those groups, only one tab in the group opens, the first one in the list.

I now have 7.1 installed and all is well--and I think I've learned my lesson about throwing things away.

    Alex,

I had the same problem with the tab group, but I fixed it by deleting the existing tab group and redefining, then saving again. No problems since.

I haven't used 7.2 enough to notice the "Find" problem. Does this always happen or is it a now and then type annoyance?

Have you thought about using Mozilla 1.7.3, or Firefox 0.10.1? They are both excellent browsers, and don't have the security vulnerabilities that are in both Netscape 7.1 and 7.2. The 7.1 download bug, GRE bug, resource leak, and countless other bugs are also addressed in these two browsers.

The "find" problem happens only on certain web pages.

Can you post one which works, and when which does not?
Although I have not used the feature a single time, ever. I would like to check this out, and learn. I have both 7.1 and 7.2 installed.

I don't have 7.2 loaded any more so I don't expect to encounter the problem again.
