After I got the BSOD, I had to restore my computer: reinstall WinXP, programs, data, the whole nine yards. Because my restoration CD didn’t have them, I downloaded and installed SP2 and SP3.

I have Windows Updates turned on, and have just received the 4 latest updates. However, after running Belarc Advisor, it shows me a list of about 30 critical and important hotfixes that are missing and should be installed. I went to the Microsoft site but am given a real runaround trying to find these hotfixes to download and install.

I would really appreciate if someone can direct me to a specific place where I can see all the older hotfixes and can select the ones I need to download and install.

    Thank you all.

Ignore Belarc & only install fixes that are offered through Windows Updates. That's your safest bet.

Thanks, but that's the problem. Windows Updates didn't send the hotfixes that were issued between SP3 and today. Belarc is only saying that they're missing and I need to get them. My problem is finding where they're all listed and available for download.

Thanks; this may be exactly what I need. The Belarc report lists all the missing hotfixes as "Q" numbers, a 6 digit number preceded by "Q ". The site you directed me to shows them as "KB" numbers, also a 6 digit number, but preceded by "KB ". I notice that several of the 6 digit numbers are shown on both lists. Does this mean they're the same update? Is Q123456 actually the same as KB123456?

Thanks. It worked like a charm. Now that I've bookmarked that page, I'm set for the future.
