When using ear pods I get no sound or distortion

    When using ear pods I get no sound or distortion, I have tried other ear pods. This is new. I have a X550CA laptop with Intel core i7 cpu.

    Please clarify. No sound is one problem. But distortion is still sound, thus a different problem.

    Do sounds sound fine through the regular speakers?

    This could be the headphone jack in the notebook is damaged and sometimes, no contact is made for no sound, and other times only partial contact is made causing distortion. Does it feel loose?
