When are the manufacturers going to catch up?

Ok well I'm running XP (Home & Pro) and testing & liking 7 (No I haven't used Vista Yet), but well I have searched for drivers for onboard stuff like video, sound & LAN drivers!
: SIS can't supply anything later than Xp (well at least for my LAN/Ethernet, SIS900),
: Ricoh PCMCIA Adapter (not enough resources?? ok, maybe not related? I needed to use my laptop wireless card in my desktop, Long Story!),
: Realtek can't give me any better drivers that will seem to work properly after XP (6ch audio, but will only work on 2ch on 7 even though it looks like it should? Does this happen on Vista?)

As we all procrastinate about what is the best operating system (regardless of the developer)?, when are the manufacturers going to listen & realise that not everyone can afford!? or is willing to run out & buy the latest and greatest computer for whatever reason they believe; and release compatible drivers for these newer Operating systems on older, but tried & trusted computers?

I Know that Vista drivers should and generally will work with Windows 7, but I run computers I can afford, I like to toy, Tinker, play with things, gee's if it costs me a fiver & I blow it up then no problems, yes I will buy that computer one day? but that is as long as it will not be superseded with-in days or weeks of it's release.

These are my thoughts, please remember that I have not used Vista, but have only searched for possible compatible drivers to use with Win 7

    Regards Jac

Some will never. Others (very few) are pretty good about it. Nvidia & ATI both have Windows 7 (beta) drivers out.

    Thanks Arie,
Finally have the LAN issue sorted, ran through all the driver folders I have trying to sort it, but to no avail, so I uninstalled it & did a hardware search & it installed correctly.
Now that I have 7 back online I can use it again
    Regards Jac
