    Hi there,

I generally use Firefox for my browser, but I also use IE8 occasionally too. For some time now, when I go to certain sites, regardless of which browser I'm using, if it is running Flash on that site, it seems I have to install Flash every time. In the past, I know that I would install the Flash player, and pages would load automatically and now and then Flash player would need updating, but that was all. Now it is needing to install over and over again every time it's needed.

Can anyone explain why this is happening, and how I can fix it that it installs and stays installed? I sure would appreciate it.

    Thank you,

    Remove & reinstall.

Due to recent enhancements to the Adobe Flash Player installers, you can now remove the player only by using the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller.

    Thank you Arie,

I have used the uninstaller to remove flash player, and then installed it again. So now I should not be required to continue re-installing it over and over again, right??

I certainly hope so, because it is driving me nuts! LOL :)

    Again, thanks for you help,

    OK Arie,

    Then I won't either.

I will tell you what did happen though.
After I downloaded the adobe uninstaller program and ran it, I rebooted, and when I booted back up, my Incredimail program popped up saying it needed to install Adobe flash, and then an IE window popped up to install Adobe flash.

Then, out of curiosity, I opened the control panel, programs and features, and there it showed Adobe Flash Player Axtive X 10 was installed, and I had not even gone to download the program yet.

So I ran the add/remove and removed it from programs and features. Shut down Incredimail. Ran the uninstaller program again, and then rebooted. I also removed Incredimail from the start-up programs list as well.

Rebooted, opened my browser to a site where I knew it would need the flash player, and it would not work right, so I went to Adobe.com and downloaded, installed the new player (being careful to uncheck the box for McAffee security program) and installed it again.

When I rebooted, and then opened Incredimail, immediately it once again used IE to install the flash player, but I think everything is working right now.

If I find there are any more problems like I was having before, I will come back and let you know. I will leave this as unresolved for now. If things continue to work as I expect them to for the next 24/48 hours, I will return and mark the problem as resolved.

Again, thank you for your help and advice. It is greatly appreciated. I can always count on you guys to get it right when I can't do it myself. :)

    Make it a good day,

    Hi Arie,

OK, I will mark it resolved, because I don't know what else to do.
Firefox seems to be working just fine, and has not asked me to install the flash player again. That is not the case with IE8. It is requesting that I install the flash player every time I visit a site that requires flash. But you were not sure the solution would work either. Now we both know.

I am confused though, as to why it worked for Firefox, but not for IE8.

    Thanks for all your help.
