whats trying to infect us today!

Would anyone be interested in an ongoing thread or topic on what new virus, malware or scam is out there?

General information about possible threats as they arise, what to be aware of not clicking on, sites that have given you some adware for example.

It's easy enough to provide links to relevant/interesting articles, bearing in mind sometimes these articles are on a site trying to sell a service or something should be a consideration though.

Your thoughts please and a possible name for said thread!

 

The ever-increasing onslaught of new viruses, malware, scams, etc. has got to be in the tens, if not hundreds of thousands per year.

In the last 12 months more than 4,500 vulnerabilities were recorded in NIST’s NVD alone. (The US-CERT (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team) issues weekly bulletins that provide a summary of new vulnerabilities recorded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) National Vulnerability Database (NVD). The NVD is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cyber Security Division (NCSD)/US-CERT).
