ok i just upgraded to the final NS 7.0 from pr1 7.0 to get rid of a 'time bomb' upgrade nag message that popped up every time i opened 7.0 saying this version6.0 has expired please upgrade from NS6.0 to 7.0 ( i never HAD 6.0 installed it always was 7.0). anyway i did, and no more upgrade message.

BUT.... now when i open the browser, i get this error message "error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser and have to click 'OK' then browser opens. how do i fix this?

also i now have an application that loads automatically when i reboot called'Liquid Audio' that has a website called www.liquidaudio.com (which ive never even been to, nor do i remember downloading this program.) Is it part of the NS upgrade by chance?) ('')
    confused

    thanking you in advance,..

    Welcome to the Forum, So0o0Confused!

    Hi So0o0Confused,

Both MS and NS are looking into a problem with ZLIB.DLL, a common file
that can cause the -207 error. Look for it in the Windows or NT directory (folder). Rename to ZLIB_DLL.BAD. You may have to reinstall Netscape.

The Time Bomb is nothing new. Beta versions expire so they don't hang around forever. NS7.0PR1 expires October something, six months after release. The 4.x timebombs would restrict network connection to netscape.com (to get a new version). I think the Mozilla timebombs just nag you.

Liquid Audio isn't a part of the Netscape Application.

Sorry, but the adblocker isn't compatible with Netscape Communicator. Don't we all wish! ;)

    Hi So0o0Confused,

Did some further research on the XBL Binding error, and found that this has to do with Themes. So if you do get the error again, you might try changing skins and see if that might help. It seems to occur more frequently in the Mozilla builds than in Netscape 7.0. Here's hoping that you have no further problems.

I am NOT experiencing any of the above problems. Do you RECOMMEND removing ZLIB.DLL? On my XP running N7 final have 2x occurences...paths...
    C:\Documents and Settings\Dennis\Local Settings\Temp\ns_temp\xpcom.ns\bin (and) C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape. Also carry like files on w95 box running N7 PrView
Do I , should I, delete them? Would I have to reinstall Netscape?

    Thanks for your help
    Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

If you are experiencing no problems, then I would definitely leave well enough alone. This fix is only recommended if you are experiencing the error.

    Count yourself lucky! ;)
