We've got a network of computers here, with 3-4 different types of setups for each type of job position. I want to create an image or ghost of each of those setups and throw that on DVDs or on our server.

Norton Ghost 9.0 is a single user\PC install, correct? What about Symantec Ghost Solution Suite\Corporate Edition, will that allow ghost images to be burned to DVD? How about Acronis True Image (I've read good things about it)?

In short, if I need to image a hard drive and install that image on to the new PCs we buy (about 10-15 a year), what's the best software for it?

    Software to Use

Depending on the complexity of your system and the amount of money available, you might want to take a look at the Altiris (altiris.com) system software. We use it for producing images of various types of 'user' pcs and then saving them onto a server. Pushing the image back out to 'blank' pcs then puts that particular image on the machine.

My boss' brother-in-law mentioned something to him about a software that does this, and allows ghost images to put on the server (I'd like to put them on DVDs) for later deployment, and only goes for around $100. Is there anything like that out there.

It seems if I would want Symantec Ghost Solution Suite to do this, we would have to buy a license for each PC being backed up or restored, which would cost a pretty penny.
