I have a free version of AVG Antivirus applic. On December 22, 2002 this program detected a virus in
C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files\220015.EXE Virus name: Trojan horse Downloader.Small
AVG says that this virus cannotbe removed and suggested that it be quarantined in the 'Virus Vault'. I did that. Now I don't want to keep that thing
on my HD permanently. How can I safely remove it?

I'm not familiar with AVG or its Virus Vault. Is this a folder you can access directly from your HD? If so, just delete the virus as you would any other file. I'm pretty sure nothing will happen.
