Three identical warnings right after posting.

    Westside,

Did you get the error today, when logging in?

I will see. I got it only once, yesterday.
Consistent, though, at least, with FF2.0.0.2 is the fact that this site does not save neither username nor password. After I enter the username, and password, and I place a check mark to remember, the information in the password box as well as the check mark disappear, when I enter. There is no entry in the saved passwords, but at least 10 cookies. Should I delete them? Or, is this a security thing. Other newsgroups save the information.

Yes, that is the normal behavior of the password.

If you delete the cookies, then you will have to log in again. The disappearance of the password, etc., is a security feature. If you log out, then your cookie will be removed.

Don't log out, and don't have Firefox delete cookies on close, and you won't have to log in again, ever!

I am in Seamonkey 1.1.1, and the username/password is stored, but it is not in Firefox 2.0.0.2. I never log out, and don't delete cookies, but if the computer is shutdown, and then started again, sure enough I have to log in. As the Private Data goes, all I have selected is to delete Cache, and Downloaded program list.
Firefox2.0.0.2 does not behave normally. In another newsgroup, the username/password is present, but I have to enter, or else I will not be able to post with my name. I can keep my login with Seamonkey1.0.8, and 1.1.1, and Netscape7.2. At one time all three newsgroups to which I participated did not save the password. Also the home page at myway.com seems to lose it.
By the way, restarting the program has no effect on the login, but restarting the computer kicks me out.

    Westside ...

I'm using only FF 2.0.0.2 at present, and I'm permanently logged in on the BBS, even though I shut down my computer each night.

You might try installing the "Remember Password" Javascript bookmarklet available here, and see if it works for you. I have it listed as my first bookmark; after entering a password I want to save, I click on the "Remember Password" bookmark, then click OK on the box that opens. Voìla! Password saved.

I have stayed logged in since I got 2.0.0.3, but error reappeared just a moment ago, with no consequence. I would have never noticed, if I had not looked on top of the page.

    Jim,
I neglected to answer you about your suggestion in the previous post.
I had had no problem with FF2.0.0.3, till I open it a while ago. It remembers old password, even of sites which I don't use any longer, but the short term memory is worse than mine.
installed the bookmarklet, logged out, and then back in. I was not asked if I wanted to save the password.
Nothing about this site in the password manager. A few other sites do not log me in right away, but the information is there. All I have to do, is to press enter.
