You can't disable reputation, which you should be able to do. The only people that use it are staff that don't want to say their "argument" in the public forum (despite the rules about that).

When you respond to them in the public forum and debate their POV, they delete your posts. We can't in any way counter the reputations.

What is the point of having them, and what is the point of having them and not allowing people to decide not to use them?

All of the complaints that I've seen in my reputation, save possibly the last one, are debatable and indeed when I addressed it publicly, staff deleted it rather than prove otherwise.

Maybe I'm obtuse or something.. But I totally don't get the point unless the staff are aiming to use it as some type of "control ".. They all seem to have plenty, although none of the normal users do (well, I did... but they made darn sure to change that...whilst telling me in PMs that I wasn't "qualified" ie up to their standards to give malware advice).

With any luck, this thread will be adressed, rather than censored.. Because it just doesn't make any sense... Particularly if someone is willing to donate their time to the cause... and get eyes full of Google ads while they're at it.

You can disable reputation in your profile. Seems that it was not available for all, but now it is. There is no rule to discuss reputation in public. It distracts from the content of the thread.

You are an experienced user, yet on several occasions you posted either incomplete or completely wrong information.

There is nothing to counter when it comes to reputation. Everyone is free to give you either positive or negative reputation, and yes, I deleted your discussion about it, as it has nothing to do with the problem the user posted about.

That's the whole point. If your advise to users is accurate you'll get positive reputation, but with questionable & wrong advise you get some negative reputation. Provide better answers & your reputation will improve.

As for the Malware forum, yes, that are our rules.

I hope I addressed it to your satisfaction. As for the advertising, you are free to get our Subscription & you'll see no ads. They are needed to pay the bills & keep this site available for free.

Yes, I think that explanation is clear and concise. Perfect actually. As long as I can wrap my brain around things, I'm fine. :)
