What is the ~ icon ?

    Ocassionally a little icon pops up on my desktop.

    It is a strange one - can't find out much about it.

    We do a prpperties query on it and :

    It is a "file ".
    It has a name of "~ ".
    It is 192 kb in size.

    We keep deleting it off the desktop, but it soon comes back.

    What is that thing ?
