Hotfix is the windows update file used when windows is updated. Are you speaking about the entries in Add/Remove programs part of Control Panel? They are there if you want to uninstall a particular Hotfix.

You can hide the listing in Add/Remove by unchecking the box at the top of the window "show updates ".

If you are talking about the entries in Windows Explorer Windows directory, you can delete them when you are satisfied that you will not have to uninstall one of the hotfixes.
