Back when ie6 was Beta software, I downloaded it because it had a cool feature. If a webpage had a picture bigger then what would show on screen, it would auto re-size to fit the screen. You could click on the pic to make it show actual size.

I deleted the Beta and got the real 6 after it came out. After all this time I just realized tonight that the auto size pic does not happen. If you hold the curser over the picture, arrows would (Beta) pop up to show if it was resized or not. Why did M$ not put this on the released version? That was the only reason I got it in the first place. Thank you, Chris

In IE6 for Windows XP, the setting is under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia. I guess I just haven't run across a large image to know whether it works or not.

I have win 98 with ie6. You can tell if it's working if you never get a picture bigger then your window. Hold the curser over a pic, if the arrows are pointing outwards, it's auto fitt works and you can see the actual size. Once it's bigger, the arrows will point inwards, meening it will go smaller.

    Windows ME

    IE6

I downloaded the real IE6 several months ago and it does have the auto size feature. Now how can I disable it? I prefer to view images at their true size.

Never mind folks, I figured it out thanks to Kevin's post .

All you have to do is click on the pic and it's the true size. I favor having a choice, then not having a choice, for pictures.

Turns out it was working. When I remembered the feture I held the curser over a pic, it didn't work because the photo fit the page. It was only after a few that I found one that was to big and needed to be auto fit. Thanks for the help, Chris.

P.S. I would like to encourage every one who posts at this fourm to remember to post back when problem is fixed. That way others can benifit from reading the answers.
