Hi, what does this error message mean?

the unregmp2.exe is linked to missing export shell32.dll:shgetspecialfolderpassA

The comes up when I try to play an mp3 in Windows Media Player. The Player is playing but no sound. soundcard is brand new and I hear music when I put a music cd in the cdrom. Only with .wma or .mp3 will there be no music.

I downloaded the latest version of windows and I still get that error message. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is probably a version conflict.

Everything that I have read on this error indicates that you have a version conflict. I would venture to guess that the sound card drivers have replaced some part of the OS or media player that is critical. I would first start by downloading the latest version of Windows MediaPlayer 10 and reinstalling it. If that fails then try reinstalling the latest version of your sound card drivers.

What is the make and model of your sound card?
