    Dear All,

    I just installed Windows 7 Pro on a Toshiba Satellite pro C2duo 2.2 with 3GB of RAM;
    Then Installed Office 2007 Enterprise;
    Then Avira Antivirus.

    In the msconfig / startup ONLY the antivirus is running;
    I went thru netplwiz and unticked 'user must enter username, ....' (thinking that it can solve the issue herebelow)

    When I boot (reboot), I see the screen 'Welcome' (not username and password) for around 20 seconds before loging onto the destkop; My client considers that 20 seconds is too much!

    Please advise.

    Thank you

    What is the total boot up time after the bios screens? I have a seemingly long display of the Welcome screen, but the total boot time is only 55/60 seconds.

    Tell your client tough luck!

    What are they expecting? Who cares about 20 seconds?

    Do this: Type msconfig in the Start menu search area & press [Enter]. On the Boot tab select OS boot information.

    You will now see what is happening "behind the scenes" when Windows boots.

    We'll they say "Time is money ".
    Tell him you could lower that boot time by half or more and load app's in a eye-blink. Then ask for a check for the following .....
    OCZ - SSD's
    Intel - SSD's

    Dear members,

    Sorry for not coming back on this thread, which usually I do;
    My client accepted the time (between 15 and 20 "), therefore I dropped the issue.

    Sorry again,
