Hi: I have a new Dell computer and deleted all the cookies (I thought it was a good idea) since I did that, when I dial in via AT&T (my Companies provider) I am only able to go into several web sites but not into most. When I'm in aol, I can access all web sites.
    Thanks for your help

    The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
    click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

    Hi Wallstgo

Sometimes these problems are due to the presence of an active Hosts file in Windows or Windows\system. Do a Find Files search for hosts (ignore the one with a .sam extension -- for sample). The Hosts file is often used to bypass Domain Name resolution by associating it with a specific IP. When the IP changes, this results in a "page cannot be displayed" message. So either open and check the file, if you have, it and correct the IP, or just rename the file temporarily to test the issue, so that normal DNS resolution is carried out.Blatantlyripped this off another board.

Also, speak to your ISP to see whether they can shed any light on the issue (it could be a DNS problem at their end).

Are you running IE 6.0? Could you have your "Privacy" options set to high so your PC will not accept cookies. Some sites will not let you into them unless you accept their cookie.

When you go to a site do you have a little, what I call a "red eye ", in the bottom right corner of your status bar?
