I want to install Webshots that offer a free desktop wallpaper and screensaver. Anyone ever heard about webshots? Does their software contain adware or spyware? Please inform. Thanks.

    The url is www.webshots.com

I use Webshots myself as do several people at work, there is no spyware or ads. It will, however "phone home" unless you tell it not to.

I haven't had any problems with it myself, neither have any of my coworkers and I've been using it for 2 years now.

I like being able to add my own pics to the mix, I added in lots of pics of my granddaughter.

It's real easy to use too. :D

Many of us use webshots at work with no problems. I've used it for years and have found it to be the best (for me) screensaver/wallpaper program around.

You used to be able to download as many pics as you like, but that has changed. You can still download all of the member pictures (people like you and me) that you want, but the specialty photos (that belong to Webshots) are limited to five per day unless you want to pay for their unlimited use service.

My son-in-law uses it and loves it. My friend used to have it and the only problem she had at the time was a resource problem. We really aren't sure if it was from having webshots on her computer or if it was something else. I ended up doing a major cleanup on her computer and that could have been the low resource problem she had and not from the webshots. They do have some neat stuff. Try it, and if you don't like it or it causes you problems, you can always delete it.

    :)
