Can anyone help with this probelm?

When I go to a webpage that requires a logon the popup box (with the keys showing) has an old NET passport logon that is no longer used still showing on the pulldown for username. I want to delete it but have not been able to.

    Thanks

Try going to Internet Options, Content, Autocomplete and shutting it off. That should clear it and you can turn it back on again.
There are a number of programs that will clear this information, like Spider, ListZapper, or Internet Sweeper:

    Thanks,

I had tried the Autocomplete way with no luck. Just downloaded Internet Sweeper, but that hasn't worked either. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

OK. I know this works. I just tried it. Go back to the Autocomplete in Internet Options and push the "Clear Forms" button, and, optionally, the "Clear Passwords" button.

If that doesn't work, the name may not be stored locally. You may have to delete cookies associated with that site to get rid of it.

I've tried clearing forms/passwords on Autocomplete, all to no avail. You may be right that the name is not stored locally, but as I am not logging into passport using it (or any other name), I can't see why it should appear in a form. I've deleted all cookies as well, but that makes no difference either.

    Thanks

    Opem Regedit and navigate to:

    HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms

and delete all branches of this key.

In XP, go to Control Panel, User Accounts, Your Account, and change the .NET Passport account there.

Thank you to Abraxas and brett for your suggestions.

Abraxas, your last suggestion led me to a solution. I went to Control Panel/Users Accounts/Change my account/Change my .NET passport ... from there was a related task - Manage my Network passwords ... and I was able to delete the name from there.

Thanks for your help, it is really appreciated.

Thanks for posting back. Sorry it took so long to dawn on me. I read your post hastily and the .NET part only registered in my slow brain belatedly.
    Glad you're all set.
