Ok, I'm really confused, I've tried a few things but I'm stumped so i'll post my problem here.

On my computer, firefox will work but I.E will not. So i opened I.E and made sure 'detect network settings' was checked and it was. But it still shows 'page not found' errors.

I installed apache web server a few weeks ago so i could develop things offline, I think this may have something to do with it because whilst browsing the web using firefox sites that use ASP tend to give 'not found' errors as the browser is trying to find the files on localhost not the sites server.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

My first step would be to download and run WinsockFix. Sometimes the stack gets broken (not just by WebEnhancer) and the result is as you describe.

I'm still having the problem of the browser looking for some sites files on my localhost, could this be because there is a problem with apache?

I am still having a problem with some websites. Most websites are fine, but on some websites the browser looks for a sites files on localhost. For example, when i go to alexa.com, i get a directory listing on my localhost at Apache/1.3.31 Server at localhost Port 80

    And Ideas?

Possibly some entries in your HOSTS file. What Operating System?
