    Hi everybody,

I am completely defeated by IE6 when it comes to displaying web pages and source code. I have just started trying to develop a web site offline and have three problems:

    1. I am a user who recently turned 'doer' and who has ideas above her (work) station so could a danger to PCs.

    2. I have NEVER been able to display any web page source (on or off line). I have notepad installed (\system32) but it recently disappeared, along with Wordpad, from the Accessories folder

    3. Some web page images that display okay in Firefox, Opera and Netscape do not display at all in IE6. All I get is the backgound colour. Other pages with rollover images display okay but disappear into a white mist when pressed (again okay in the others).

I have been trying to solve this for weeks, have looked at numerous web sites including MS and tried lots of things without success. I would SO welcome any advice you can offer.

My PC is a Dell Dimension 4500 with
    1 gig RAM
200+ gig of available disk space
All Windows and IE updates are current (OEM original installation)
    Apache2/PHP as a local server
    Trend Internet Security 2005
    Spysweeper
    Spy Bot
    Adaware
56kb dial-up (spit spit curse curse)

    Cheers
    Tricia
