I want to get Windows search to NOT index a particular folder (duplicates of docs that I've got elsewhere, for uploading onto amazon cloud drive). It has already indexed this folder, giving me a lot of duplicates, and links to folders that I don't want to edit.

I have already gone into this cloud drive folder on my hard drive, and told Windows not to index it for searching. But after doing that, I did a sample search and found that it is still showing up in my results.

Is there a way to get Windows search to re-index? Or do I just have to wait a period of time, for results to drop out of Windows' index? I know with Google Desktop search, and Copernic, you could go in and have them re-index the files you want searched.

In your Start programs and files box on the Start menu, type index, click Indexing Options at the top- of your Start menu.

You can press the Modify button to remove locations from the index. After you have adjusted your settings, press the button Advanced then press Rebuild.
