We ordered something on line from King Arthur Flour last week. In their confirmation e-mail, they gave me a UPS tracking number. I checked out the schedule a couple of days later, using the link in the King Arthur message, and got a delivery date of 29 Nov.

On the 27th, an e-mail showed up with the UPS logo and a UPS e-mail address, with links to the schedule and the invoice. When I clicked on the "schedule" link, Norton Security went berserk. In about 20 seconds, it blocked 15 internet attacks. I quickly closed and deleted the e-mail.

I then went into MalwareBytes and did a scan. One trojan had made it through the Norton activity. Unfortunately, I didn't make a note of the fake "UPS" e-mail address before I deleted it.

I couldn't find any reference to this particular issue, so I thought a heads-up would be a good idea, since many of us use on-line purchasing with UPS delivery.

Use the UPS confirmation data in the shippers e-mail and log into UPS yourself. I guess I was lucky that the link in the King Arthur e-mail wasn't a dangerous one.
