Excel 4 [Office 2000] is just too smart for my own good. When I copy URLs, addresses, etc., into cells, they WRAP, even if I pre formatted cell or worksheet. How do I turn OFF this time wasting "feechur "? I now have to re-format after paste, or copy data into text editor before re-copy and paste into cell, which wastes a tremendous amount of time. If the clue is in HELP, I have not found it. Thanks for any practical solutions.

In Excel, go to Tools>Options>Edit tab. The one to uncheck might be "Extend list formats and formulas." If you right click on each option and left click on the "What's This?" box that pops up, it'll give you an explanation of what each does.

I've tried to re-create the problem you're having and so far have had no success. When I paste in a URL, it won't wrap automatically, so I checked some settings.

Have you looked in Format>Cells>Alignment tab and made sure that "Wrap Text" isn't checked? I figure you have but the simplest things are the easiest to overlook.

It's possible that I have corrupted files. However, the first thing I did was to turn wrap off, single and for all cells highlighted. I paste into a cell and wrap is back on.
